More than a century ago, creative people adapted an ancient textile art, twining, to a new purpose,
by twisting strips of fabric around perpendicular strands to make twined rag rugs.  At virtually no cost,
twining requires only homemade equipment, common household tools, and scrap fabric.  It produces a
heavy, sturdy rug that someone can make, regardless of education, experience, or income.  Although it
takes some time to complete a rug, rag twining is a good spare-time project that doesn't require
extended work periods.

Rugs measure approximately ?? inches by ?? inches.
